Postcard Potpourri
A BIT O’ THE GREEN. Carol Burghauser of Rosedale, Maryland found these early 1900s postcards at her local antique shop. The message on the 1908 card showing the harp was sent by Mrs. E. Reid to Mrs. E.L. Herr and reads, “Don’t forget to wear the green in honor of the day.” The other card was sent to Mrs. Stella Uhler of Baltimore and reads, “Dear Stella, I will write to you later, as I am very busy. The boy takes a size-4 shoe, so you can imagine the size of him. Look for a letter soon. Yours truly, Aunt Tillie.”. |

MAKING MUSIC TOGETHER. “This was among the postcards I found in an old trunk that belonged to my aunt,” says Mary Knoll of St. Louis, Missouri. “The cards were dated from 1903 to 1915.” |
