Camping across America with KOA

As KOA campgrounds celebrate 50 years of adventure in the U.S. and Canada, we look back at memorable camping moments from the 1960s.

Baseball is great, but America’s real favorite pastime is sleeping under the stars, and few campers in the last 50 years haven’t made the acquaintance of KOA. There are more than 500 KOA campgrounds across the United States and Canada, but it all started back in 1962 with one picture-perfect spot in Billings, Montana.

Nice Ad! This and the Pep Boys retrospective last week. Informative, entertaining advertising. Well played. 🙂

We enjoyed camping and traveling for many years and stayed at KOAs all over the U.S. They always provided great accommodations and their map/catalog was always handy and helpful.

The picture of the people watching the kids playing under the umbrella is my husband and I and our son. Was I surprised to see that!

I love the last picture of the lady with her “laptop” on the picnic table!
