These are so funny. Why would they have these silly laws?

HI,

I don”t know about you all, but it really makes me wonder about the quality of those politicians that wrote those utterly stupid laws! However, compared to today”s laws that take away our liberties, I”ll take those silly ones any day.

These are hilarious! I’m sure there’s reasons behind all of them. The only one I know the reason behind is Kentucky’s “Ice cream cone” law.

Back when horses were the primary source of travel, people would steal them by sticking an ice cream cone in their back pockets and the horse would just follow them. That way it didn’t look like stealing.

In Okla. if a woman drives a car, a man has to run in front of her yelling ” WOMAN DRIVER” LOL

wouldn’t it be fun to find out the reasons for these silly sounding laws?

These may seem silly, but how about this one.
One state (I forget which one) required that when a woman drove a motor vehicle, a man would have to walk about 100 feet ahead with a lantern or flag to warn all approaching traffic. Now can’t you just picture some poor man trying to do that today?

I just read yesterday that here in Massachusetts, it is illegal to drive around in your car with a gorilla in the backseat. No lie! One of our local news stations had a link on their Facebook page to a slide show off outrageous traffic laws throughout the U.S. I wonder if that includes someone in a gorilla suit or only a real gorilla?

Proving that hard cases make bad laws.

I would love to read a book about how these laws came about. I’m sure it would be very interesting and probably very funny.
